Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- ½ cup diced onions
- ½ cup chopped green peppers
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
Cheese Sauce Mix
- 1 cup Nacho Cheese Sauce
- 1 can Rotel (green chilis with diced tomatoes)
Wraps and Toppings
- 4 flour tortilla wraps
- ½ cup sour cream
- Nacho Cheese flavored Doritos, crushed (amount as desired)
- Shredded lettuce (for serving)
Instructions
- Brown the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the lean ground beef until browned and no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat to keep the wrap from being greasy.
- Sauté veggies: Add the diced onions and chopped green peppers into the same skillet with the beef. Cook and stir for about 4 minutes until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
- Season the beef mixture: Sprinkle the taco seasoning packet over the beef and vegetable mix and stir thoroughly to coat evenly and combine flavors.
- Prepare cheese sauce: In a separate bowl, mix together the can of Rotel (green chilis with diced tomatoes) and the cup of Nacho Cheese Sauce to create a creamy, spicy cheese blend.
- Assemble the wraps: Lay the four flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Spoon a layer of the cheese sauce mixture down the center of each tortilla evenly.
- Add beef mixture and sour cream: On top of the cheese sauce, distribute the cooked and seasoned beef mixture, followed by dollops of sour cream, additional onions and peppers as desired, and a generous sprinkle of crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos for crunch.
- Roll the wraps: Fold in the sides of each tortilla, then roll tightly like a burrito to enclose all the fillings.
- Toast the wraps: Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Place the wrapped tortillas seam side down and cook until the bottom is crispy and golden brown. Flip carefully and toast the other side until equally crispy and warm inside.
- Serve: Remove the toasted wraps from the skillet and serve immediately with shredded lettuce on the side and any additional favorite toppings to enhance the flavor.
Notes
- To reduce fat, use extra lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey.
- The crushed Doritos add crunch and flavor—add them just before rolling to keep them crispy.
- Warm the tortillas slightly before assembling for easier rolling.
- Customize toppings with jalapeños, sour cream alternatives, or pico de gallo.
- This recipe can be doubled easily for a larger crowd.
