Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Mixture
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or chopped
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup Alfredo sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Dough and Cooking
- 1 batch pizza dough (enough to roll out to approximately 12×8 inches)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking chicken and sealing rolls)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing tops)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced (optional, for butter brushing)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the cooked chicken breast generously with Cajun seasoning. Pan-sear the chicken in olive oil over medium heat to lock in flavor and develop a slight char, then let it cool slightly.
- Mix Filling Ingredients: Chop or shred the blackened chicken finely. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken with Alfredo sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese until the mixture is well coated and cheesy.
- Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick to ensure even baking and make rolling easier.
- Assemble the Pizza Rolls: Spread the Cajun chicken Alfredo mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the dough tightly into a log, pinch edges to seal properly, and slice the log into 1-2 inch rolls.
- Bake to Perfection: Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet with the cut side up. Brush the tops lightly with melted butter mixed with minced garlic for extra flavor. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 18-22 minutes until the rolls are golden and crispy on top.
Notes
- Use freshly cooked chicken breast or leftovers to save time.
- If you prefer less spice, reduce the amount of Cajun seasoning.
- The garlic butter brushing is optional but adds a nice savory touch and shine to the rolls.
- Allow the chicken to cool before mixing with Alfredo sauce to avoid thinning out the sauce.
- Serve these pizza rolls warm for the best taste and texture.
